A precious metals mining company

Leadership for precious minerals companies

Based in Moscow but headquartered in North America, the executive VP needed to lead and manage a precious metals mining operation across 11 time zones which include remote mines with challenging conditions, climates, cultures and politics. His team contained people with different nationalities and mother tongues. We provided help and support through helping him to build a strong team who worked well together.

We used a workshop, team and one to one approach which included 360 degree and MBTI feedback to help the members of the team

  1. understand themselves better
  2. understand how others see them
  3. understand others better and
  4. activate a self development plan.

We drew on a competency based framework approach developed by Lominger and the work carried out by Dan Goleman and others on the theory of Emotional Intelligence.

It became clear that leadership skills were improved and, additionally, that resolution of problems became much more constructive and much less confrontational. Both motivation and bottom line results showed improvement.
